Innovating solutions for neurodevelopmental challenges

The focus of research in the Centre for Biomedical Research is to investigate the biochemical, genetic, epigenetic, metabolic, neurological and other molecular aspects of neurodevelopmental disorders like ASD, ADHD, Down Syndrome etc. Our research is supported by the Department of Biotechnology, the Indian Council for Medical Research and the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research, Government of India. We are a recognised Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (SIRO) under the Government of India.
Our original research has been published in multiple peer-reviewed international journals.

Computational Biology & Data Science
at Manovikas Kendra

Data from Manovikas Kendra (MVK), and those from independent investigators, support that an early intervention (for example music therapy, and/or neuro-feedback therapy, etc.) may help neurodivergent children cope better with their deficits. However, formulating an accurate diagnosis from neurodivergent toddlers is challenging.

Using Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning methods, MVK's Computational Biology core is aiming toward an early and accurate diagnosis of neurodivergent disorders among children. Through holistic and Translational approaches, we are able to integrate traditionally independent scholastic disciplines (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and Statistics) and improve the overall quality of life and provide therapy to our kids.

Our Centre focuses on

  • Researching the root causes of neurodevelopmental disorders to enable real-life impact
  • Investigating neurological aspects of ASD, ADHD and Down Syndrome
  • Advancing research supported by National Scientific Bodies
  • Publishing original work in peer-reviewed journals
  • Carrying out translational research for betterment of the children
